(Las Vegas).- Nevada’s gaming revenue drops 0.5% in April 2025, extending the decline from March’s 1.1% decrease.

Nevada’s gaming industry saw another decline in April 2025, with statewide revenue falling 0.5% year-over-year to $1.2 billion. The downturn follows March’s 1.1% drop, signaling a sustained trend in the market.
The latest Nevada Gaming Control Board (NGCB) report highlights additional challenges on the Las Vegas Strip, which posted $646.9 million in revenue, representing a 2.9% decline for the month.
Clark County Experiences Mixed Performance
Despite Clark County recording just under $1.1 billion in gaming revenue, marking a 1.1% increase, individual districts showed varied results:
- Downtown Las Vegas saw a 1% rise, reaching $83.6 million.
- North Las Vegas and Boulder Strip grew by 4.4% and 8.1%, respectively.
- Washoe County reported a 4.3% increase to $86.4 million, fueled by a 9.2% boost in Reno to $64.7 million.
- Elko County posted 7.5% growth, while Carson Valley gained 1.1%, generating $11.4 million.
- South Lake Tahoe and North Lake Tahoe struggled, with revenues dropping 7.6% and 18.4%, respectively.
Gaming Revenue Breakdown: Slots and Table Games Decline
Gaming revenue breakdowns indicate a decline in both slot machine and table game earnings. Slot machines generated $882.7 million in April 2025, marking a 0.5% drop. Similarly, table games saw a 0.5% decrease, with revenue falling to $351.5 million.
Mobile Sports Betting Surges Amid Land-Based Struggles
While land-based gaming struggled, mobile sports betting saw substantial growth. The sector produced $33.2 million in April, reflecting a sharp 35.3% increase. Basketball wagering played a key role in this surge, jumping 51.8% to $20.9 million, further emphasizing the rising importance of digital betting options in Nevada’s evolving gaming economy.
Nevada collected $68 million in percentage fees for April, showing a 3.2% decline after March’s sharper 8.3% drop in fee collections.
A Challenging Year for Nevada’s Gaming Sector
April’s figures follow March’s statewide revenue of $1.28 billion and a 4.8% decline on the Las Vegas Strip, reinforcing mixed regional performance as 2025 progresses.
The outlook for Nevada’s gaming industry remains uncertain, with continued pressures on the Strip, shifting local trends, and a rise in mobile betting reshaping the market landscape.
